Standard Sales Company, L.P. was founded in 1952 by Ted G. Roden, who served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer until his retirement in 1984.  Through Mr. Roden's entrepreneurial philosophy and leadership, the company grew from a small, single operation in Odessa to one that now encompasses eight branch operations and employs more than 400 people.  The company, measured by the total volume from all of its operations, is today one of the largest beer wholesalerships in the United States.

Mr. Roden's business philosophy recognized that a company is only as good as its people.  He knew he always had to have the best.  Mr. Roden's philosophy is carried on today.  The company, through its executive management team, recognized the importance of quality people in the continued growth, development and success of its business operations.

The company continues to emphasize the importance of open, two-way communication between its management and employees.  To encourage this communication, various ongoing programs continue.  Employee communication meetings at all facilities with executive management are periodically conducted so that employees can discuss relevant issues with management and receive answers from management on important issues and questions of concern.

The company is dedicated to maintaining a close association and partnership with all representatives of Anheuser-Busch, Inc., our supplier and the largest brewer in the world.  The company is extremely grateful to all of the people within the Anheuser-Busch, Inc. organization for their support, enthusiasm, individual contributions and assistance made on our behalf.
